What kind of insurance do you have??? I know generic xanax costs me $10 I would ask your doc for samples of the eflexor and cholesterol. Most are willing to help you. I would also try to find a place in your state that can help with those meds. I know that we have one and should be some kind of place in every state. Good luck. Definatley don't stop those anxiety meds after three years ouch.
May I had something, if you don't take your thyroid medicines you'll become hypo and really sick, then how you can work? find a job?, no energy, no sleep.....that's not a choice, you need to have them. Don't stop Effexor without doctors supervision.
I agree with AR...you need your thyroid meds. You can live without some of the others.
As for the Effexor, it has nasty withdrawl symptoms so I would not suggest just stopping or switching meds without weaning yourself off. You Dr might be able to help by giving you sample packets to use while you come off and then prescribe something that you can get at Walmart for $4.
Good luck!
What you need is your levothroid.
You won't die if you miss your cholesterol med.
You can't go for months without your thyroid medication.
As for changing from Effexor to Zoloft, don't you need a doctor to change your perscription?
It's been just about 3 weeks with nothing, but Half a dose Effexor XR and my xanax and yesterday I went to walmart and was able to get trazadone for $4.00. I really want to switch from Effexor Xr to Zoloft at Wall-Mart they said Sam's Club has Zoloft for $19.00. I just don't know, do I just stop taking the Effexor Xr and start taking the Zoloft or do I need to taper the Effex Xr and the start the Zoloft??
Taking yourself of medication is dangerous. Have you asked Walmat or Walgreens what their price would be for your meds. I know that they offer large discounts to people without insurance. You could (Should) inform your doctor of your situation, they should be able to help as well. As far as the Hypo/Hyper...if you type that into google you will find some great reading. From what you say..you seem hyper but "How long have you been off your meds" could be a withdraw side effect. That is why your doctor needs to know exactly whats going on.
