Synthroid ====> Levoxyl = Rash?

I was switched by my pharmacy from Synthroid to the generic, Levoxyl, about 6 months ago and seemed to have developed a facial rash which is somewhat splotchy over my cheeks (more on one side than the other). Is it possible for generics to cause this kind of a reaction. My TSH levels seem to remain in check ranging from 1.0 - 2.25. I am currently on 200mcg/day.

Levoxyl is a brand name as AR said.

I have heard on another forum that some pharmacies are treating it as a generic (as in pricing).

When did the rash occur in relation to when you began the Levoxyl?

Your pharmacy has no business changing your perscription with out your doctor's orders.

Levoxyl is not a generic. It is a brand name drug just like Synthroid is. But it is not Synthroid.

It's possible you may be allergic to the fillers in Levoxyl.
