Synthroid and memory loss

I recently was diagnosed as subclinical hypo (TSH 6.0) and given .25 mcg of synthroid. Since I have started taking it, I have had memory problems that I did not have before I went on it. I forget names and and words.

Natural thyroid hormone production can decrease when you start thyroid replacement so you can experience worsening of symptoms to start with while the thyroid medication builds up in the blood. This usually takes between 4 to 6 weeks.

It's not unusual for symptoms to worsen, or for new ones to appear, when adding a thyroid replacement medication, because the body has to get used to having hormones, it's been doing without.

As FTB4 said, brain fog is a classic symptom of being hypo.

Mental confusion we call "Brain Fog" is a common symptom of Hypothyroid
It seems many thyroid sufferers think that thyroid replacement Hormone causes symptoms to appear, I also thought the same thing when I first started taking medication, Your system is just used to running on low hormone T3, and when you all of a sudden increase it, it kind of shocks your system, even small doses take an adjustment period, Do you have a copy of your Lab results,? If you do post them for more info, Did your MD do an anti-body (TPOab) blood test along with TSH, Free T3 and Free T4, post them along with the reference ranges provided with each. Regards FTB4
