Synthroid dose....same every day?

I was just wondering if anyone takes different dosages of thyroid meds on different days.  The reason I ask is that my doctor changed my dose from 75 mcg of Synthroid to 50 but she wants me to take 2 pills on Mondays and Fridays.  

The reason for the adjustment is that I was overmedicated based on the below levels:

                          Normal Ranges according to this lab
TSH      .034        0.450-4.500
Free T4 1.50        0.61-1.76    
T3        196          85-205

I was feeling anxious as well as my blood pressure/pulse were high so I went to my doctor to have blood drawn.  She is taking over my thyroid meds which were originally prescribed by the surgeon/ENT.

I am nervous about doubling the dose 2 days per week.  My doctor doesn't like to cut these pills in halves/quarters but I would still think that would be better than doubling up twice a week.

I would just like to know if others are doing different doses rather than the same each day.

Just remember it will be a bit before you notice a difference.

Also make sure you get blood work in 6 weeks to see where your level is at this dosing?

I guess I just thought she would have me take 75 mcg three or four days per week instead of doubling the 50's twice.  

I just don't want to feel as bad as I did when I was on 75 mcg.

You really are only taking 64mcg per day doing that way and I don't think there is pill with that dosage.

I have had to double before and did not have any problems with it. Just take it every day the same time on empty stomach.

She does not want you to go hypo and is trying to keep you from being hyper, so I can see the adjustment.

Usually drs will have you take a lower dosage pill on certain days with a higher dosage one on other days. It is common to titrate the dosages. Just make sure to retest in 6 weeks. I wouldn't be scared as you are jumping down to 50 through the week and then getting higher dosage on weekends.
I would have asked to take 75 monday thru friday and 50 on the weekends. She may have cut you down to too low of a dosage. Time will tell.
