Synthroid too long

Has anyone been on Synthroid/Levo for a long time 25 years for me and switched to Armour with success? After being miserable half my life I know am on 90mg Armour. I took Armour as achild and did great then got told to take the synthetic stuff. Finally got smart, read alot of info I had neglected and chose to change with different Doc..I am deperate for it to work. So anyone who has switched after so long a time I could use some input. Thanks

I made the switch from over a decade on synthetics to desicated in '09. Unfortunatly this was when Armour had shipping issues, which in turn depleted the supply of the other brands in the USA. Several desicated generics  closed up shop since then thanks to the FDA. Whats left is Armour, Nature Throid, Acella NP Throid in the US.

After two years on a Canadian desicated I feel much better than I did on with optimal lab results while on synthetics. Due to possible new import laws I would not recommend Erfa for US citizens.

It takes time and an open minded Dr to find the sweet spot that your body likes in the thyroid lab ranges.

You must first get your levels optimal per lab results before you write off synthetics as not working.

I think we have some members who were on synthetics for many years and switched to desiccated med.  I'm sure they might pop in, to reassure you.

You might help us all out, by posting your current thyroid levels, along with reference ranges, which vary lab to lab so must come from your own report. That will help us all better assess your situation.

Do you have Hashimoto's?
