TSH Score move to larger # -hypo or hyper?

My TSH went from 1.2 to 1.4 to 1.7.  Is this moving toward hypo or hyper?  My symptoms match hypo.

I took another look at my lab results and found I was tested for vit D, Cratinine and Potasium levels, all at the lower end of the normal ranges, but within the range.  I've added vit D to my daily routine to bring that one up.  Maybe I should add B12.  I don't think I want to add iron, I think that adds to the constipation issue.  I will turn up the heat on getting more tests.  Knowing the language and test names to request will help.  It looks like the Free T3 and Free T4 are the place to start.  What does the antibodies include? Is there a test name to ask for?  Thanks!

Yes, with your symptoms, you should go for further testing.  Get the Free T3, Free T4, and antibodies.  Be aware that many doctors, don't like to test for Free T3 and Free T4, if the TSH is "normal", so you may have to insist on it, as TSH is variable.

Given your symptoms, at least they should rule out thyroid problems by testing Ft3 and FT4.  These should likely be about middle of the reference range.
Given how you are feeling, it may be an idea to be tested for B12, Vit D levels and also iron levels.

My symptoms: fatigue, weakness, lethargy, weight gain, depression, constipation, loss of balance and migraines.  I think the migraines are a separate issue but all the parts do work together.  I thought my issues were thyroid, because it runs in the family.

I am not on any thyroid medication.  I am on Amitriptyline low dose 10mg for migraine prevention and Sumatriptan for pain when migraines occur.  I have not had tests beyond the TSH, but maybe I should.

Thank you for any insight.

Higher TSH usually indicates hypo, but yours is still a long way from being too high.  Have you had other tests done? Such as Free T3 and/or Free T4?  Antibodies?

What symptoms do you have?  Are you currently on any thyroid medication?

Sorry to answer you with so many questions, but more info would be helpful.
