Scott
I had to get a dose of 150 mlcrs and stay in the hospital for 2 days so consider yourself lucky! It should go real easy for you>My nuclear DR. said the same thing just stay away from seaweed and did not stress the LID much at all but i followed it anyway. He said my tsh had to be over 35 and mine was 46 when they gave me the pill.I guess it varies from dr to dr...Anyway good luck on your road to recovery.
Healthy 07!

They took me off Synthroid (cold turkey - no Cytomel) and had me on the LID for three weeks. They wanted my TSH above 30 (the hospital thought it would take me 5+ weeks to get there). After 3 weeks I was at 75.9.
If you want to follow the LID to ensure you get to 50 that fast, here's a pretty good link:

Check your meds too - many of them contain see-based products and/or iodine. Stay away from soy too.
If you are like me you'll want to get HypoHell over with as soon as possible! :-)
Good luck
Scott we will be in hypohell together.I start lid on the 15th and my nuking is the 6th of march.Just keep coming here and it will keep you uplifted through the worst of it.Knowing you are not alone helps soooo much.
My family is supportive but they just dont get the whole thing like those of us at the forum here.
so heres to a short trip down the hypohell highway.
Love Venora
I as well as you, I am going cold turkey as well. My doc said I will go on Cytomel as soon as the RAI is completed to get me caught up. He told me not to worry about the LID excpet no seaweed!! boooooo!!!! I love dried seaweed!!!! O well, I will follow the LID to lose some weight too!!! :) :)
Here I go! to happy times!! I hope!!!
Scott
Yeah, keep the positive attitude! :-)
I've heard HypoHell described as nothing but wonderful (heavy sarcasm here). Giving up Sushi was tough for me but I would have done anything to get through the HypoHell.
Hang tough and watch for that depression - it sneaks up on you but man, oh man, does it have a huge bite!!!
"This too shall pass" :-)
