2 DAYS and no call from Dr. or the Office. Guess I will have to waste INS's money and go to Urgent care. Can not get an Appt. to go back to the Dr. untill the 25th and you have to call that week and hope they are not gone yet!!
What a joke!!!HAHAHAHA NOT
I need to Swicth Dr's bur this Dr. has been helping me and Listens to me.
Talk to your doctor before decreasing your dosage, but it's usually advisable to decrease T4, when adding T3; you can always increase again later, if need be,but you don't want to run the risk of going hyper.
Hi, I take 125 mcg Levo So I should drop it to 100 which I do have already.
Dr. Never called me back today! Surprize, Surprize.
What's your T4 med? You will need to make sure you drop it accordingly and only start on a very low dose of T3 med (5 mcg to start). It's usually recommended that you drop the T4 med by 25 mcg for every 5 mcg of T3 med.
I don't know what insurance you have, but this is a prescription medication, so should be covered; mine is; however, if you opt for cytomel over the generic, it will probably cost more, but in my area, still is affordable.
Hi Guys, Thanks again :o) I put a call into my Dr. if she calls I will asked her if she can call this in to RX ..Do you know if INS covers this.
All I know is that I still do not feel right and go on a rollercoaster ride like 2 times a day.
HUGZ Terri

T3 is Cytomel or generic T3.
Your T3 is "in reference range", but it's not at all "normal". FT3 often has to be in the top half to third of the range before hypo symptoms are resolved.
Good luck!
Yes, the tests are in the "normal" range, but that doesn't mean they are "normal" for you. I agree with Stella and goolarra; you might try adding a small dose of T3 med (it's called cytomel; generic is liothyronine). Best to start with a small dose (5 mcg), and see how it goes, then once you adjust, you can add more if symptoms and labs, warrant.
Not sure what your dose of T4 med is, but you should drop back on the T4, whenever adding a T3 med.
Hi, Thank you, I will see about adding T-3 meds what is the name of this Medication for T-3?
It's not easy to reach her or to get an appt. I have one on the 25th. I might have to wait till then. I do not fell normal. So i would like to try that medication. She is not an Endo Dr. so I need to talk to her about it. She did say test are normal and I told her I do not feel normal at all.
Thank You Guys!!! Terri
I definitely agree. FT4 looks really good, but your FT3 is way too low. Ask your doctor about adding some T3. It's obvious that you convert very slowly.
I'd approach them with the thought of adding in T3 meds.
I would feel terrible with those labs Terri
Far from the norm on optimal thyroid.
What's the result of the FT4?
