Thyroid 88 mcg

I take 88 mcg for my thyroid being underactive.  It doesn't seem to be helping even though the last tests showed my levels to be in range.  I have gained 32 pounds in one year, despite exercise and healthy eating.  I cannot seem to lose weight.  I am constantly exhausted and now my voice is so rough and hoarse.  I am also always constipated!  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I forgot to mention that Magnesium with every meal works WONDERS for my constipation. So does Citrucel once per night.

Many endos treat hypo based on TSH. In reality, FT4/FT3 treatment is more accurate. TSH is a pituitary hormone, and doesn't paint the full thyroid picture.

Please post your numbers here. You may benefit from a T3 drug like Cytomel or an increase in T4 meds.

Also, have you tried to avoid gluten and soy? Are you taking your medication with a full glass of water and on an empty stomach for one hour?

How long ago were the lab tests done? Was it just the TSH?

Are you menopausal?

Sounds like you are still dealing with hypo symptoms. Have you asked your doctor about trying to up your medication to 100mcg to see if that helps your symptoms?
