My TPO ab is 1810, and TSH is 0.013. What does that mean? I delivered a baby 5 months ago, and have been extremely busy and tired with two young kids. Is my symptom related to the postpartum at all? Can anyone help me?
My TPO was 1238 and they just used it as confirmation of autoimmune thyroid disease, this was in the presence of an abnormal TSH score and heterogeneous changes in thyroid on ultra sound exam.
By themselves they aren't diagnostic, because 10% of the population has them. The likelihood is that your thyroid is under attack and will have some response eventually.
As Graveslady suggested- I'd get the tests available and relevant at this time to try and determine what they can.
I have heard the higher levels themselves may have some meaning, forget what it is LOL, but nothing that would have anything to do with treatment- at least not at this time.
TSH Lower Than 0.45 mIU/L suggest further evaluation to establish the etiology of the low serum TSH. A radioactive iodine uptake measurement and scan can distinguish between destructive thyroiditis and hyperthyroidism due to Graves' disease or nodular goiter.
