Thyroid Cancer

I had a Thyroidectomy about seven years ago. I was started on Synthroid and stayed on it until 2010, I then started taking Aumour Thyroid 60mg. My TSH levels were too low so the doctor increased it to 75mg. A couple of weeks ago I had blood test done and my results were TSH 16.940, T4 4.6, T3 221. I have been feeling really off balance, fatigued, loss of appetite, mindless and anxious at times. has anyone experience these type of feelings or having their levels this high while taking Aumour Thyroid. I don't want to go back to taking Synthroid because it made me feel even worse than I'm feeling right now, I looked like a stick and I felt malnutritioned. Can someone give me a heads up on whats going on?

I would bet that you had your labs done in the morning also, T3 gets in the system fairly quick, and you are crashing later in the day because you are taking the whole 75 at one time, divide the dosage in half, take the first when you get up, and take the second about seven hours later, you don't want to take the second to late, it may keep you awake, and dont take food for an hour after. Try this method for a week and see how you do. Best Regards FTB4

Hi,
I agree with FTB4! I take Armour and have been for 7 weeks now. I had to split my doseage up also. I take 2 grains in the morning and 1 in the evening. I too, could not tolerate synthroid. It made me feel terrible and bloodwork numbers were all over the place. It mights take a while to get the medicine tweeked. Sounds to me with your TSH that high that you need to increase Armour again.
