Awesome news! Congratulations!!! I am sorry that the procedure hurt. My nodules are solid and I swear, I didn't even feeel the needle going in. Drainage of the cyst was likely not too comfortable. They will still want to monitor the cyst they drained to see if it builds fluid again over time. Hang in there and keep us posted.
:-)
Benign benign benign! So happy to hear it!
ps I didn't know going in that I had a cyst. I was just told a nodule. Its amazing since they've drained it I am not short of breath at all!
well biopsy is done. I am sore today. The needles were spring loaded and felt like they were hitting my larynx every time they went in. But its over and I am glad. Now I wait. Monday at the latest they said!
Hi allyfield. I just posted my answer to your question on the question that I had recently asked (BabyBlue139; July 20; "Question about thyroid test results"). I didn't realize you posted it here also. So check it out!

In my experience" the biopsy is alittle uncomfortable because of the drawing of samples. Once the doc injects the needle into the nodule, he will draw several samples as the needle is inserted in and out continuosly until he is satified with the amount drawn. The neck may be alittle swollen and sore, however you will be fine the next day. I had a difficult experience the first time because it was very painful but the second time, even though I requested that the area be numbed, that particular doc says that he always numb the patients before the procedure. This is helpful, in my experience. The results normally take up to one week. Be sure to keep copies of your results for your record. God is Good, you will be fine.
The biopsy itself is very quick and painless. The worst part is waiting for the results. Take it one step at a time. Dont worry about the results and what they mean. Right now just get through the biopsy. Deep breaths, and positive thoughts. Dont worry untill they tell you to worry. Your gonna do fine!!!!
What is the nodule size? Is the FNA going to be sonogram assisted? It is the best method to insure they get a good sample. Also make sure they take at least 3 from the nodule if it is big enough. The test is quick and painless. You may have a little bruise after but, it goes away quickly. If it is sonogram assisted, ask to watch...it is pretty cool.
Results should take less than a week, ask the doctor to get a copy of the report as they tend to just tell you the one sentence answer..."results are benign" or "we need to run another test". You have a HUGE chance at the results being benign, which is the good thing. Hang in there!
