Thyroid Issues

I had hyperthyroidism I had the radiation pill to kill my thyroid completely, well now I take a pil everyday to regulate, and I have had my levels checked and they are normal but I am always tired and always hungry and can't lose weight, and when I do start to get hungry I start to feel shaky and kinda of nauseaus so I hurry up and grab whatever is fast and can fix that feeling the fastest What should I do?

I have the same problem. I had both RAI & TT. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia about a yr ago. I did the 5hr Oral Glucose Test.

I get the same symptoms as you, but I can't wait to fix something I quickly eat a pop tart or whatever is on the counter.

I was told to eat 6-7 small snacks through out the day to avoid my sugar level from drastically dropping. It has helped me, but I eat a lot of protein anyway.

With you having had RAI, I would put my money on your  being undermedicated.  If you will post your thyroid test results that were supposedly "normal", members can help interpret and advise further.

It will help members to respond if you will post your actual thyroid test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  if you don't have the information, then I suggest that you get a copy.  The doctor is required to give you a copy upon your request.
