Did they run a ANA test for Lupus, just curious. Mine came back positive @ a 1:80 ratio but I didn't know at the time to ask what pattern showed up from the stain they used? I guess the pattern helps to point to underlining cause (disease) of the positive reaction to the test.
My doctor ran a lupus test on me last February. Why didn't my Hashi antibodies show up then? Are there various types of Lupus tests?

There are other autoimmune diseases that can show high TPOab as well, including Sjogren's, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and pernicious anemia. That's why it showed up in the lupus panel.
I think it's a combination of goiter (enlarged thyroid) and antibodies that make the diagnosis of Hashimoto's.
You most likely have Hashimoto's and it would treated the same as hypothyroidism - it's just harder to control.
Do you have recent results for FT4, FT3 and TSH? If so, it might be helpful if you could post them, along with the lab's reference ranges.
SalGal, I see you are already on Armour. That is what can be used to treat Hashimoto's. Since you are already diagnosed hypothyroid, I am assuming the Hashi caused it, and your doctor is only now getting to the root of your hypothyroidism.
The joint aches, depression, bipolar, nodules, sleep, and ALL of your issues can be caused by Hashimoto's.
Follow Dawnangela's advice and get those FT3/FT4 levels. Maybe you need your Armour adjusted. I hope you can find a pharmacy that stocks it.
How big are those nodules? Why no FNA? I would ask for one, just to be sure. My endo did an FNA on my teeny nodules. It hurt less than a trip to the dentist.

Hi this would mean you have an autoimmune disease. Usually Hashimoto, This will eventually leave your thyroid not functioning..Have you had a thyroid blood panel to see what your t4 and tsh levels are? Dawn
