Thyroid Problems

I had this feeling of a tightness in my throat, swollen lymph nodes and shortness of breath.  I had been seeing doctors for the swollen glands and shortness of breath with no answers.  About three months ago the doctor said that my thyroid was swollen.  He ran blood work and an ultrasound.  The blood work came back normal but positive for antibodies.  The size came back left 4.6 x 1.1 x 1.5 and right 5.2 x 1.5 x 1.5 there is a small cyst on the left side.  My doctor tells me that the symtoms are not related but I have read on the internet that the breathing and swollen glands could be related to my thyroid.  I have been on synthyoid for 3 months with no real changes.  On the high dose I started to catch a little breath and the choking sensation went away but I went hyperthyroid so they decreased the dose and it all came right back which is why I think they are all related.  My doctor won't send me to an endo.  What do I do and can they all be related.  How accurate is the ultrasound as cancer runs in my family.  Please help I am miserable and the docs won't help me.

Yes, sometimes swelling can be refered  as the  increase of its density rather then the size;
however the homogenous texture means that there is no inflammation at the present point which is kind of unusual , considering elevated antibodies

Can those limits be different for people.  I have had two seperate doctors tell me it is swollen and I have that choking or pressure in my throat.  Could this be swollen for me even though it is normal limits.  The report of the ultrasound said it has homogenous texture.  Something is wrong I just don't know what.

According to the report the the thyroid size is within its limits; the more critical finding is the echotexture of the thyroid; if it is inhomogenous the inflammation due to tthyroiditis is taking place; the symptoms you are descrbing can be sign of thyroiditis attacks ["artritis of thyroid"]
