Suziqusy, if you want any meaningful answers, you will need to post your test results along with the lab limits for each test.
The fact that you have one of the five or six thyroid antibodies is of some concern, but you really can't come here asking us if your doctor is right or wrong without providing any information more specific than what you have given.
Do you have the results from a TSH test? If so, can you post them?
The high antibodies put ypu at increased risk of developing a thyroid disorder.
I just read (today) about antibodies. The fact that you have them means you will probably become hypothyroid. Keep having the tests done (TSH, T3 and T4) once a month (or every 2 months). You can also ask your doctor for a trial dose of T4 to see how you do. The fact that your Mom and brother have hypothyroidism and that you carry antibodies (not sure what the numbers mean) are very good indicators that you are hypothyroid or on your way to becoming hypo. Did you tell the doctor about your Mom and brother? Forget about what the previous poster said. This person doesn't know enough about thyroid. Your morning temperature is also a good indicator. This is called the Barnes Basal Temperature Method. Tell your doctor about this also. Keep us posted.

If your thyroid hormone levels are good, you don't need any treatment.
