Thyroid hormone replacement elevating blood pressure?

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed an increase in their blood pressure after going on thyroid hormone replacement.  Since I was a teenager I have had low blood pressure- ranging from 90/50 to 100/60 max.  Every dr. appointment I have had since starting on NatureThroid my pressure is in the 120s over 70s range.  Never in my life has my blood pressure been close to that.  In fact my PCP in the past has told me to increase my salt intake to try to get my pressure up.  I think possibly I have been Hypo all those years and didn't know it which may explain the low blood pressure.  Anyone else experience this?

I always had very low blood pressure growing up and the doctors used to tell me to eat more salt also but since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism and starting on levothyroxine about 6 years ago my blood pressure has been steadily getting higher and higher and now im on lisonipril to reduce it.  i have noticed when they up my dose of levothyroxine my blood pressure goes down to the normal ranges for a while but then all my symptoms come back and they have to up it again I my doctor wont send me a referal to an endochronologist so i don't know what to do about this either but i do know that you are not the only one having this problem so good luck and thanks for letting me know im not the only one lol

I know that thyroid disease causes high blood pressure and high cholesterol , but i am not aware of the medication raising it, it does increase your heart rate, due to speeding up your metabolism
but medications affect everyone different and I suppose it would be possible 120/70 is a good range, MD's differ on opinions on what constitutes high blood pressure, I have been told under 120 was ideal by one and under 130 by another. It always seems like your blood pressure is higher at the MD's office anyway, I think they call it the white coat syndorme LOL. I have a home monitor, and I will take mine before I go to the md, at home it could be 120/75 and at the md's office it will be 135/75, It never fails. I would lay off on the salt, everything you buy and eat has a load of sodium, you do not have to add to it.
