Thyroid nodules

My thyroid has been aching ever since I started taking Synthroid.  I first took the generic brand then switched to regular Synthroid ( the more expensive kind.)  I am stil experiencing discomfort on both sides of my neck where your thyroid is located.  I have had my thyroid " palpitated" to see if the docs feel anything but they never seem alarmed.  Can Nodules be found by simply pressing on your thyroid?  Has anyone else had pain in their thyroid since being on their meds?  I have a whole list of other aches and pains too.  This really sucks.  Some days I just want to curl up in a ball and cry.  I know I'm a guy and that seems like a sissy thing to do but, this is really kicking my butt.
Cortisol levels are normal and tsh is 2.7 as of December 15th.  Thyroid antibodies are high and I have tons of abdominal pains and chest pains. Chest pains feel like whole chest area is sore.  I also have joint pain in my fingers and so on.  I'm wondering if I might have an auto immune disorder developed from my antibodies attacking my thyroid and gone to other places.
I'm tired of trying to diagnose myself.  I have been to numerous doctors and to one endocrinologist and I still feel like ****.

You may feel better with your TSH a bit lower~~ around a 1-2. When my TSH came down to 2.9, my dose was increased by 25 mcg. It made a big difference in my symptoms.

Synthroid can decrease the size of goiter/nodules, but it will take a while for that to take affect.

I agree about getting an ultrasound.

Very common to have this symptom. But I have to ask a few thing. How long were you on generic ?  When did you make the switch? and how long has it been now that you are on Synthroid?

I am leaning to belive that you might not have given yourself enough time yet. But if you seem concerned as I was recently - get an ultra sound(My advice - of the neck AND thyroid)

That will rule 99% whether you have nodule or not. No- they can not always be found with a neck check. I know.

The gland can become swollen or enlarged sometimes. but again if you have had a through neck check that would be found.

If possible answer the questions above - If i catch it before I leave today. I will answer back.

Good luck
