thyroiditis?

Went to ER by amb on 11/02. Racing heart, dizziness, feeling faint. Dr. said it was bad reaction to cough medicine. Sent me home with scrip for Bronchitis. Symptoms continued so I went to my GP. He says he thinks I have thyroiditis. My symptoms have been high heart rate, dizziness, feeling like my skin is burning up,  weakness in arms and legs, fatigue, and sometimes I get really out of it like I am drunk. He put me on Propranolol to control my heart rate and stop the feelings of being "flushed". My heart rate is more under control and the heat is not as bad, although I still get those hot feelings. Now he tells me I just have to wait. He wants to see me again in 3 weeks to check BP, pulse, and thyroid levels. ( So far all blood tests have been showing pretty normal. TSH leaned slightly towards hyper in one test. ) Does this sound like all I should be doing? Just waiting? Its beens 3 1/2 weeks so far and I still feel lousy. I don't feel like I can drive or do most of what I need to do. Any suggestions?

Christina has not been active on this site for quite a number of years, so it is unlikely you will get a response.  What symptoms do you have other than the tremors?  Have you had any thyroid related tests?  If so, please post results and reference ranges.

I had all of your same symtoms but I got a question does you get shaky like tremors to or do these symtoms come and go cause i had them also they would come and go and i would go to the er after like 6 trips there I found out they were panic attacks that I hadn't gotten before my throid became hyper so i didnt know what they were other than they were very scary to me

In some thyroid issues, it takes a little time to tell which direction thyroid levels will go in to know what the actual thyroid condition is.  Some hypos will be hyper first and some hyper will be hypo first, or levels could go back to normal.  All which can not or should not be treated until the thyroid decides on what it is going to do. If you feel bad with normal levels, then perhaps something else is going on, this is just a thought due to facts that other health conditions can mimic thyroid symptoms, as well as some cough medicine. Both doctors might be right.

As long as Propranolol is doing its job, follow your doctors advice.

Hope you feel better soon.
