Does anyone have a clue as to why docs do not leave a piece of the thyroid behind when doing a Thyroidectomy, if it's not cancer??
Thanks for the response...I believe that even if there was a bit of thyroid left, it woudn't be so hard to live without one....
If it is removed because of auto immune diseae they THINK well your going to go hypo anyways why not make it happen now and treat the known issue hypothyroid. But from the ones who have to deal with the hypo thyroid it is not just a walk in the park like the dr said to me.
Personally I think that if you are hyper hypo from and auto immune disease that the hypo is harder to regulate than the natural hypo with out the auto immune issue.
