Thyroid

Heterogeneous echogenicity with some minimal cystic change at various levels is present in both thyroid lobes. Isthmus has similar appearance minus cystic change. The cystic collections are small, measuring less than 0.5 cm. The right lobe measures 6.1 x 1.7 x 2.6 cm in the left measures 5.9 x 2.1 x 2.0 cm. No dominant solid nodule is identified. What does this all mean?  I meet with doctor later this week but anxious.

Based on the description it looks like bilateral inflammatory process in the thyroid (uneven tissue with very small cysts)
Left lobe approx 12 cu cm
Right lobe approx 13 cu cm
25 cu cm total - clinical goiter
Average total volume is 6.5 - 8.0 cu cm
