Thyroidectomy & Migraine

I suffer from menstrual migraines.  I'm about to have a completion thyroidectomy due to a diagnosis of papillary cancer, and I was wondering if anyone has ever undergone this procedure, began meds for the rest of their lives, and then rid themselves of their migraines?

Thanks Red!  I was kind of hoping I'd hear that suddenly I wouldn't get migraines anymore. Oh well!  Maybe after surgery #2 and getting used to starting medication, I can give the Primrose Oil a try!  (I'll have to get used to taking a daily pill first).

Nope. Had mine out 3 years ago and still get the 2nd day migraine as I call it. It is not to do with your thyroid, but rather the progesterone levels dropping suddenly. It's a pain, literally! But some people are more sensitive to that drop.
I take Evenining Primrose oil and find it lessens the degree of migraine.Take it all month long. Just not with your thyroid medication! Take it at least 4 hours later after your thyroid meds.
Good luck!
