Tired of Slurred Speech

My brother has been diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and is taking Synthroid .01MG. Most of his initial symptoms (weight-loss, excessive perspiration, extreme tiredness, bulging eyes, etc.) have been alleviated as a result of this  medication. However, we have discovered several 'new' symptoms and are not certain if they are side effects of the medication or are additional symptoms of Hyperthyroidism.

Although, my brother is not as excessively exhausted as he was prior to his diagnosis, he continues to be consistently tired or at least tires easily. Our family's concern however, stems from additional symptoms that seem to occur when he is tired. Most of the symptoms occur at the end of his day and are so intense, we even considered the possibility that he was consuming alcohol on a regular basis, as he appears, for lack of a better term, 'drunk'.

His speech is slurred, his eyes are droopy, his motor skills seem to be impaired, his excessive sweating returns, and he is not able to focus. As strange as it sounds, these symptoms occur almost instantaneously and linger for several hours. At this point all we know is that these symptoms only occur at the end of the day and when he is extremely tired.

Please help.

I don't know.  So I'm bumping this up.  This might not be a side effect.
This does sound very serious.  You might consider taking him to the ER when the symptoms return.
