Tired, stressed and just want to feel right again

Hi saw A GP this morning who would have instantly refered me to the Endocrology clinic however i am not her patient but one for a Senior GP in the practice. Currently i have a TSH of 8.6 where in May i had one of 0.04. I had Bariatric curgery a year go in Jan that plus the reduced reading lead to a reduction in my Levothyoxine from 225mcg to 200mcg. However i have been under some stress due to a grievance i have placed at work, and the stress could ALSO come from the high TSH reading. What concerns me is the sudden change in the reading when i am restless, unable to sleep without waking up 5-6 times a night, of course i am tired as well, not surprising if i am not sleeping correctly plus my thyroid is not functioning correctly. However despite the high TSH reading my blood pressure was great 128/90 and a pulse of 62 DESPITE the abnormal TSH reading, she admitted she would have expected them to be higher considering.

So instead of getting a referal to a thyroid clinic, i get a referal to see a psycoanalyst to determine if this is purely stress from work or medically induced.

I am not sure where this is leading buy i am extremely concerned that after a reduction my TSH is well out of the normal range for me (1-2);

Can anyone enlighten me as to why this MIGHT have happened? i realise i have to wait for NP gp to call with a plan of action ect but i would like to know what questions i should be asking

Levothyoxine can be increased at any time if needed, however having lost half my body weight i should not need the high doses i was on previously and 200mcgs is still a high dose. i do know that if i was on 300mcg they would be investigating for cancer. However thankfully its not at that level just yet.

Pulse and am i athletic, not particularly, i do go to the gym ocassionally and i do move around a lot via walking and taking stairs rather than the lift but certainly not athletic. I do not currently have the energy to use my Wii fit

Normaly, if you reduce hypothyroid med, you will see hypo labs - like in your case. And May was last year.

Hypo can bring on weird symptoms. And you can have lower pulse from hypo, its not necessarily good. Unless your athletic (are you?), a pulse of 62 for a 44 year old is uncommon.

Can the doc increase you med now a year after surgury?
