My surgeon said he'd use glue if he has to go back in my incision. I wonder why some prefer one method over the other? My SIL's glue incision is wonderful ... 1 week post op and WOW .. looks great.

That is weird. I just tested my incision now and it is a little numb above the incision but not below. And that numbness is in a very small area. I have stitches but they below the skin and will either be absorbed or "spit out" by my body - no need for it to be yanked out. Thanks for bringing this to our attention; I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Haven't had my thyroid out yet...but did have surgery of the spine about 22 years ago. The reason I bring this up is because I remember the numbness radiating from my spine area to my hip bones (both sides) area in my lower back... I also remember it lasting for a very long time (meaning months and months).... I guess it takes a long time for the nerves to heal and reconnect.
Same with my Csections but the numbness was very close to the incision. Not as spread out as my back. God, I hope this incision things for you clears up soon with as little discomfort on your part. Bless you!
weird. My numbness is right abve the incision and just below my adams apple.I wish it was my sterun that was numb.It still hurts like hell.
How are your abcesses? Are you going to get them cleaned out.I am hoping like crazy they will heal for you on their own so you dont have to go through all that again.
I wonder why some surgeons still use stitches and others use the superglue stuff?I got superglued on both my surgeries. Now I think the sternum incision got infected because I snatched up the 3 yearold and I pulled it too hard.
So anyway.Let me know how it goes.
