I'll have to get back to you on those results at my next appt. thank you!
You should make sure that they test you for Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and T4), every time you go in for testing. TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables that it is totally inadequate as the sole diagnostic for thyroid. Free T3 is the most important because it largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. Scientific studies have also shown that Free T3 correlated best with hypo symptoms, while Free T4 and TSH did not correlate.
Your symptoms, including emotional distress and difficulty in conceiving, may be due to Free T3 and Free T4 levels that are too low in their ranges. You need to find out what those levels are and post them here, along with their reference ranges shown on the lab report and members will be glad to help interpret and advise further.
My tsh results 3 weeks ago was at 3.5 and I'm on 25mg dosage for thyroxine
Just because your test results are in the so=called "normal" range does not mean that is adequate for YOU. The ranges are far too broad for that to be the case. Many of our members report that symptom relief for them required that Free T3 was adjusted into the upper part of its range and Free T4 adjusted to around the middle of its range. It would help us assess the adequacy of your testing and treatment if you will post those test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report. Also please tell us your daily dosage of thyroxine.
