Before I had my thyroidectomy my left side was very swollen and was pushing on my throat, my GP took a chest and neck xray and saw it was pushing on my throat, I could tell just by the fact that it felt like I had something stuck in my throat and and I was trying to cough it up. Talk to your doctors and point out your issues, I told my GP to get it out, I was tired of the pain and all the issues. Your scans sound like mine, keep trying to find someone who will listen, you know your body better than any doctor.
It is definately good that you are seeking another doctor's advice. I personally have sought the advice of 5 doctors on my swelling thyroid and still do not have any real answers. I have recently started seeing a new ENT and I like him very much so I am hoping he can fix it. Please drop the doc you have now, if he can't take the time to look at something that was asked for by his office prior to your arrival, he is not worth YOUR time. Best wishes to you! ~K
Okay...here is my news from the ENT.....(by the way this happens to be the same one that told me in Feb that this was all in my head)...
He didn't even look at the films that I took to him (receptionist was sure to tell me to bring them and I went out of my way to pick them up)..I had to point to the ultrasound report for him to even look at it.
He scoped my throat and told me that he sees no reason why I have voice problems..he is sending me to a neurologist because it could be something like MS or Lou Gering's (sp?). He said maybe later on I would have to see a speech therapist...???!!!!
He never mentioned the nodules...I had to ask him what about them...he said "Oh those aren't going to give you problems with talking or swallowing...we will check them again in 6 months" (He knows I have a family history of thyroid (hashi) and thyroid cancer.)
I have an appointment with another ENT on Wednesday...I suppose I am going to get a second opinion...
I am also going to see a GI doc tomorrow to rule out anything going on with my stomach.
I would love to hear your comments, advice etc!!
Both nodules have well defined borders - a good sign, however due to their size both needed to be biopsed.
I'm not sure but the ENT is a good appt to keep; he will most likely do a painless scope and to r/o compression. My Dr. could feel my nodule the size of yours but even before surgery I still could not feel mine so it is possible after he knew where to feel for it, he felt it.
Keep us posted and welcome to the community!

Hi, I just wanted to say please try not to worry. I'm sorry but I don't know anything at all about scan results so can't help you there, but the others will be able to, especially 898 coz he's brilliant at that stuff. Hang on for their advice.
