Ultrasound results?

I went to my Family Dr today who had test ran on me on Wen. Ultrasound and barium swallow test. The results showed I have several nodules on my thyroid and some in my esophagus. He is sending me to an EN Dr and Gastro Dr. I am concerned with the nodules being in my esophagus. Could this be cancer and it has spread to my esophagus? Someone please give me some insight.

If you run some Google searches on "thyroid cancer in esophagus" there are some case results.  There are also many, many studies showing that the nodules can "look" like they are in the esophagus because they are displacing it.

They should be able to easily get a biopsy of the ones in the esophagus by doing an endoscope (minor outpatient procedure under anesthetic).

Regardless of where it may be, if it is one of the two primary thyroid cancers (papillary or follicular) is is relatively easy to find and kill.

Please, please keep us posted.

I have not read any info about thyroid cancer spread to the esophagus.
The MRI imaging may be helpful to see the nodules in the different projections.
