Does anyone know about what is normal for T3 test?

I am 53, have Hashimotos, fibro and am hypo and just got my results back.  For the past 5 years I have been on 90mg Armour Thyroid.  I have been so exhausted lately. My mom is sick as is my husband.  I have been on the east coast for 3 months and live on the west coast!   So, I got the test done here and just got my results.

TSH - Range 0.35 - 5.50               mine 0.7
T4    - Range 0.61 - 1.76               mine 0.97

Heres the catcher!

T3    - Range 2.3 - 4.2                    mine 4.7

I feel so tired and lousy. Dr called and had his nurse tell me everything is "fine" and to stay on the same meds.  My joints are soooo swollen!

What do you think?  Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry. I didn't say welcome, and I didn't answer your question.

Your Free T3 and your Free T4 should both be about two thirds up the scale between low and high.

It could be that all the stress lately has thrown your system out of whack. It may be that something changed in your body chemistry, but right now you don't need the extra T3 in the Armour. If you lower the dose, you will get less T4, and as you see, you need more now.

You need to talk to a doctor about a different replacement hormone medicine.

The Armour Thyroid is giving you too much T3.
It is a combination T4/T3 drug.

You may do better to switch to a T4 only drug like Synthroid or Levoxyl.

Everything is not "fine". Your T4 is too low, your T3 is too high, and your TSH is...hard to say. It may be perfect, it may be too low.
