Vit D Defiency

My level was 9.3  6 months ago. I took 50,000 ius of D once a week for 3 months, then 1,000 a day for 4 months and my next test was "normal". Don't know the numbers. My question is. Is 1,000iu's a day enough to lower my risk of breast cancer, would 2,000 be too much, and what is normal these days??? THANK YOU

I was put on Vitamin D after being found to be deficient in it.
Kris is right......1000iu a day is usually the norm.

i had the vitamin D conversation with my Dr. a couple of weeks ago and he told me that taking 1000 iu a day of Vitamin D would be beneficial and wouldn't hurt me. Apparently, you can overdose on vitamin d so you have to be careful.
