I had a TT almost 18yrs ago. I was getting low in the last 3yrs on my B 12 & Vit D.
I take both of those daily now (OTC).
Vitamin D is necessary for thyroid hormone production in the pituitary gland, and possibly in the early stages of T3 (thyronine) binding to its receptor.
I'm not sure about the direct relationship of Vit D on Thyroid.
I do know however that people who are Hypo are also likely to be low on Vit D. Is this a coincidence, environmental or causal? I don't know. Also Vit B-12 can also be low in people who are Hypo. And the common symptom of low Thyroid of fatigue is also a side effect of low B-12.
If you are not bothered too much by any symptoms, you may want to try to add Vit D. 1,000 IU's is not that much to add daily. Ask your Dr how much would be a good dose. I know my wife takes 6,000 per day and it is not too much FOR HER.
