Weight Gain

I was recently diagnosed wth an underactive hyroid.  This came after many of the usual symptoms, but mostly because in a three month period, I gained 30 pounds!!!  I'm taking Levoxyl AND following all the doctors orders, AND exercising more than ever AND eating better.  I've lost about 5 pounds, but the rest is just sitting arond my mid-section.  I've never had weight problems before, it's just the thyroid thing.  I'm at the end of my rope now and out of ideas.  Any sugestions on how to lose weight??? I'd appreciate any and all thoughts.

I would love to know how to get that weight off. It is my understanding that the thyroid  has a part in metabolism, and when we are hypo, our metabolism slows down, As you know from experience, it is hard to get it jumpstarted again.  Even with dieting and exercise.

I read that cayenne pepper upped the metabolism, I have been adding it to my food. Who knows, we get so desperate and want to lose that weight so bad, they could tell us to eat the stuff off our bumpers and we just might do it....ha ha ha
Gross, I know, but you get my point!!

I, too, have this extra weight. . . When I began the synthroid, the weight gain stopped; however, getting off the excess is fairly perplexing to me also.  I'd also appreciate info . . .
