Weight Loss and Thyroid Medication

I am Hypothyroid and currently take 200 mcg of Synthroid.  Over the past three months I have lost 30 lbs.  Could it be possible that due to the weight loss that my prescription may need to be lowered?   I've been having a lot palpitations lately which is usually indicative of too much medication.

Finally, living proof that a body can lose weight on Synthroid!  You are my hero!  I had begun to think it was physically impossible to lose weight any more!  Hopefully, you were wanting to lose weight.

Synthroid doses are often based in part on body weight.  If you have lost weight, you could need a dose adjustment.

Hope your doc orders some blood tests for you, sounds like you might be having hyper symptoms.  Have a good weekend.

I agree.. I am going through that exect experience. Anxiety and the heart palps occassionally. I was on too much of the Synthroid and had my labs done.. too much medicine.

sounds about right, go get your TSH bloodwork to be sure.  Other symptoms can include: disrupted sleep, increased appetite, intolerence of heat, sweating, jittery hands, high heart rate...
