Weight loss

I am in the process of finding out what is going on with me.  The Doctor I am currently seeing thinks my issue is a thyroid problem.  I am having all of the appropriate blood tests done and will have my results next week.  My question is this.

I have gained quite a bit of weight.  I have been reading here that people still cannot lose weight even after being diagnosed and treated.  Is this really true?  It is quite depressing to hear this considering I have worked my butt of for the past 4 years to lose weight and cannot do so.  I read about tsh levels and the "frees", and find it all confusing.  I would like an answer to this question that does not include all of that. Will I be able to lose the weight after I am diagnosed and treated?

thanks in advance.

Weight from thyroid disease can spiral down and cause someone years of gaining weight other metobolism issue malfunctions.

Reverse T3 hormone - Lepitin - insulin resistance and cortisol issues can accompany the thyroid patients illness and the weight can be extremely stubborn to get off after those things are taken down too.

You MUST balance the Free T3 is get the other metobolism components burning fat too.

Some can find a special diet can help - or some may find other hormone meds can help them too.

Testing and GOOD doctor will unlock the issue and get you back into shape.

I went from 55kgs up to 71 kgs in a matter of 2-3 weeks after dx of Graves and Hyperthyroidism and put on anti-thyroid meds.
After RAI......the weight didnt start to come off until my levels stabilised.
I felt the anti-thyroid meds made me 'FAT' as I just felt like a beached whale.
Anyway...to cut a long story short......I am now 58kgs (17 months after RAI) and as strange as it may seem.....am not dieting, exercising etc.
Hope that helps :)

And if its any consolation........I didnt only feel like a beached whale...I looked like one too lol.

BTW... I am not thinking that it should magically disappear.  I am one who will work at it.  If only I could find some energy to do so!  ;-)  I would just like to hear from some people who HAVE worked at it and HAVE gotten some results.  I am 5'2" at 177 lbs.  I want to be down to 140, which is a healthy weight for someone my height.  I know I am never going to be 125 again.  :-(  but I would like to think that I can get back some of the girlish figure I once had!!!  ????
