What do you think this is?

I've had a partial thyroidectomy due to a large growth, around 6 yrs ago.

Never had any medication since then as my levels returned to normal after a few months.

Now I am feeling REALLY nauseous.  (Have done p tests, negative).  Also have a slight feelign in my throat the same as when I had the growth there - what do you think it is?

Am booked to go for an ultrasound on Sat.

Daniel, it could be a number of things like a goiter from the other lobe. My goiter pain radiates to my chest and ears. Goiters can be caused by a number of things. Sometimes Hashimoto's or Graves.

But I'm only speculating. The ultrasound is your best tool.

Also, what levels were normal? I sure hope the doc wasn't just looking at the TSH. It seems strange that you only have one lobe and don't take any thyroid medication.

My mom had a partial thyroidectomy because of a large growth. 13 years later we find she has positive Hashimoto's antibodies. We know now that the growth was probably caused by Hashimoto's because this thyroid disease commonly causes goiters. I'm not saying that this is what you have, but this is an example of how doctors just don't order the right labs.

Get your bloodwork and post those results here:
TSH
FT4
FT3
TGab - antibodies
AntiTPO - antibodies

Take care...
:) Tamra
