What lab tests should I request from my doctor

I am planning on going to see my doctor tonight and would like to tell him which labs tests I'd like him to perform. I know I've had my TSH and T4 done fairly recently, but I'd like all the possible ones done in order to try and get a diagnosis and treatment. Should I also be asking for a thyroid ultrasound?

I'm not sure that he'll agree to do all these tests, but I thought it's worth a try to ask. I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and am having a very hard time finding any doctors to see about thyroid issues.

I'm pretty much at the end of my rope with feeling so horribly and no one being able to give me any answers. The thought of continuing to live with this low quality of life is really defeating :(

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your help.

I have some suggestions about tests, but first please tell us about symptoms that you have and also please post your thyroid related test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.

When I suspected I had Hashimoto's thyroiditis I requested TSH, free T4, free T3, thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb), thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb). My TSH was in the mid 2's (always had been the mid 1's) and both thyroid antibodies were high.

Thank you so much Red_Star, I really appreciate it! Do you think asking for a thyroid ultrasound would also be a good idea if I can get him on board to request it?
It would be interesting to see what is going on in the thyroid gland (nodules etc). I really should have an ultrasound done myself.
