I was on Synthroid and am about to start Levoxyl to see if something in the Synthroid is causing my tongue to be enlarged.
no I haven't. But I was having this problem before I was diagnosed. These symptoms are what led me to the dr.
Have you ever tried a med besides Armour?
Armour can make some people feel wired.
I am on armour thyroid, the dosage has been lowered to 90 mg.
I am taking ativan and atarax for the anxiety,(from the hospital) and also started me on the lexapro. I think it is either my thyroid or adrenals and that is why the ativan and xanax and atarax are not beneficial.
The cardio eval was OK?
What med are you on?
My heart races. I just got out of the hospital with chest pains and pain down my arm. They only sent a cardio to see me, I told them I have hypothyroid, and thought it was related to that, but they told me to follow up with my PCP and sent me home.
I have asthma, and it is totally different from this.
I feel as if I have adrenaline that just won't stop spewing.
Are you on armour or levothyroxine meds?
what was your free t4 level, even though your tsh might be ok, many times in the past my tsh was ok and my free t4 was really high and the free t3 really low. the free t4 would cause the anxiety and heart palps and really bad brain fog and also I would get burning muscle pain, all at the same time with the free t3 being low I would still have hypo symptoms to go along with all of that. free t3 and free t4 need to be in balance of 10 % of each other. also they need to be between 60 and 80 % of the range for woman of childbearing age.
do your research and don't let every doctor go by tsh alone . this does not give the full picture. I have suffered for three years , going up and going down in my levels and constantly changing doses of syncrap. go to stopthethyroidmadness, they also have a book. It is so informative .Anxiety is a side effect of UNDERTREATED thyroid.. If you get that in balance everything else will fall into place.
That is strange.
Are you sure it is anxiety?
I have asthma and sometimes the chest tightness will feel like anxiety and actually turin into anxiety feelings if I don't recognize it.
Have you had a check up about this feeling? Does your heart race?
yes, and ativan and xanax are not helping. Doesn't that sound crazy?
So you have the anxiety no matter what your levels are?
I had my TSH level to 0.3 and still anxiety which causes me to wake up every1.5-2 hours.
When my anxiety was at it's worst, the Xanax didn't work.
Have you asked the doctor about trying a higher dose?
Once my TSH was lower, I had no anxiety.
