Dr. Lupo answers questions at the following link. It is the Expert Thyroid Forum.

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/120

The number of new questions per day is limited, so you may have to try a few times.

I can't answer your questions about menopause, and I do not understand the term "mistranslating".

Good luck getting your question in to Dr. Lupo. Maybe others here can add their thoughts.

So you were born with Grave's Disease, and your thyroid was ablated (killed) when you were two or three months old.

You get tested every six months, which is good. Do you pay much attention to the test results? Is your doctor keeping your hormone levels so that you feel well? Does your TSH stay around 1.0 or 1.5?

I'm not sure what to tell you about the long term effects of taking Eutroxsig for sixty or seventy or eighty years. The manufacturer would tell you there is no harm in it.

The battle for you, and many of us here, is to keep your hormone levels correct. I'm sure you know that can be difficult. The more stable your hormone levels are, the less your body suffers damage and illness.

I think you will find friends here.
It's nice talking with you.

I see you said you are taking thyroxine.
What country do you live in? Is the medication "thyroxine", or is there a brand name? I realize it is Levothyroxine. I'm just trying to find out exactly what you take.

Welcome to the board. I hope you find it helpful.

Several people have posted in the past who were born without a thyroid. I'm not sure how many are still checking in. I know there have been two in the last month. Maybe one of them will see your question.

What exactly are you curious about?

What medication are you taking?
How often do you get tested, and do you keep copies of your tests?
