New symptoms after 32 years

I'm a 39 year old female, was diagnosed 32 years ago, taking 300 mcg synthroid daily.  In the past week I've developed NEW (to me) symptoms.  i.e. leg pain, arm & wrist aches, swelling of hands.  I've had great control for 30 years.  Anyone have suggestions?

Hashimotos with Shattered Thyroid.
Drs are looking into RA. Yeah, great!
I'll look into the pre-menopause & estro/progest thing too, thanks for the idea.
Antibodies-I have 2 different types at any given time

Thanks again.

What were you diagnosed with?

Aside from anything strictly thyroid, your symptoms could be because you are reaching that magic age of pre-menopause and your estrogen/progesterone are in flux.  Estrogen and thyroid affect each other.

You could also be looking at RA.  Yeah, fun, eh?

When was the last time that they ran your labs and checked for thyroid antibodies and your ANA?

Go see the doctor for new blood test. Your condition might have changed.  It sure seems like you are on a large dose of synthroid.  Also, you might have your adrenals checked.  Sounds like symptoms of adrenal fatigue. They are basically the same as hypothyroidism.
