WOW what stories, I don't feel the lone man out, Came to site through sister who is thyroid cancer, stage 4, spread. I have been sick off and on for couple of years, this last worse, with weight gain, neck pain and tested last yr with thyroid goiter/multip.nodules. Took Levo for a yr, noticed lump on throat getting bigger, went to specialist and had another uptake scan blood work and ultrasound, blood levels high, thought to have case of Thyroiditis but having biopsy's on April 22, thinking to have total thyroectomy because of family history (sister, mom) and hoping to get results, life back, loose weight would be nice,  been really tired lately but off all meds till test on 22nd. I guess I am Hypo. hoping this site will explain some other symptoms of late. This site is best I have found to help with dealing. Thanks

I am anxious to get back to work soon.  I was diagnosed with hypo 2 weeks ago and have felt terrible, of course.  I have been on Levothyroxine for a week and a half and was curious as to how quickly I may expect to feel well enough to go back to work?  The symptoms day to day are so unpredictable, at this point, that I am concerned about being released to quickly and underperforming in my career, but also concerned about not going back soon enough.

Many days, I must make myself get up and move even though my body does not cooperate.  Is this the key to recovering more quickly or am I pushing the envelope by pushing too hard?

Thanks to all.

I think my wife is suffering from hypothyroid disorder. I was looking for answers to what was happening to her and i found this forum. Thyroid disorder runs in her family she has had a complete personality change. She ran off with another man and i am trying to get her to go in and get tested. She is receptive to the idea only because she can't loos weight.

I am nearing 80. I am hypothyroid since last 30 years. My mother and siblings have the same problem. Some body remarked that I am getting a moony face. This remark made me aware that I am following footsteps of my mother and siblings. The diagnosis of hypothyroidism was confirmed by blood work. My doctor told me this is easiest disease to treat. I am taking 100 mcgs thyroxine. I was free from any severe symptoms for many years. My chronic problems are poor vision (AMD), tinnitus, deafness.I am acclimatized to these problems.
However, I am having sensation of tightness in my feet(soles) and mild numbness  and swelling  in my legs. There is no pain in the feet or legs.- Just tightness in feet or feeling that I have put on tight socks or shoes. This is since last four years. All types of tests are negative. Just recently somebody labeled it as paresthesia. No definite treatment is available. I wonder if this is related to hypothyroidism. I am not aware of any other treatment except replacement therapy. I tried to research for some other probable treatment for my sensation in my feet. It is an annoying symptom. Any info on this will be appreciated.

I hav ebeen recently diagnisised with hypothyroidism, haven't been given a type yet. I found this forum while searching for info online about hyouthyroid and goiters. My docotr sent me for an ultra sound and I haven't gotten the results from that yet. But my TSH level is 6.790, my FT4 is 0.85, my vitamin D is 12.3, my TPO is >600 and my Antithyrogobloblin Ab is 12574. All of these levels are high except the Vit D, which is lov, adn the FT 4 with is boderline low.
I habe putting on weight gradulallt since my hysterectomy surgery-40 pound in 5 months, and can't seem to get it off no matter what I do. I watch what I eat and exerczie. I also seem to always have a sore throat and have been getting sick A LOT here lately. Could that be part of all this going on? I havr had 2 sinis infections and now I have strep throat. I jsut can't seem to get over this stuff. No matter how hard I try. I also work in a high stress job and work about 85-90 hours a weeks. And I know that isnt helping-but I just cant take time off work.
Can anyone PLEASE hekp me or give me some advice? I don't see my endo for another 4 weeks. And I'm not sure if I can make it that much longer.
I'm exhuasted and worn out and i feel horrible. PLEASE HELP/
Thank you,
HEIDI
