Can you have fibromyalgia with Hashimotos

I happen to be looking online the other day and noticed I have every symptom listed under fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed with Hashi's this year but there are some other symptoms I have that fall under the fibromyalgia. Has anytone been diagnosed with both or heard of this. Thanks for your help

PlateletGal has offered some good information.  Fibromyalgia can tag along with any other illness, or it can be the predominant complaint.  We have several members who suffer from a variety of illnesses along with having FMS or CFS.

We would be happy to have you join us and we will help in any way possible.

Best wishes,
Breeze

I can't tell you how many people I've met who have fibro, CFS or had a recent EBV infection and then have thyroid problems. Some of these people end up with Hashimoto's and then others will have low thyroid result. The tricky part is... for most people with fibro or CFS, the standard thyroid tests will not detect a low thyroid ! This happened to me, although I have all of the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

I hope that helps... if you haven't checked out MedHelp's fibro/CFS forum, I hope you will. We have a ton of information on our Health Pages and tons of support !
