Wrong symptoms

I have an underactive thyroid but my brain thinks I have an overactive thyroid. Anyone else had this problem because the Endocrinologist says I will have to live with feeling tired all the time, sweating and short of breath. No amount of thyroxine seems to help

I'm fairly new here and I'm having similar issues. I had convinced myself I was Hyper because all my symptoms appeared to tie up with that. I now understand many of the hyper symptoms are also hypo symptoms. I'm having plenty of breathlessness even though I'm pretty fit, sweating profusely (although that's possibly menopausal) and I haven't been able to sleep properly for days now.

I am hypothyroid and I also have both symptoms. I have days where I could sleep 16hrs. Then I have nights where I couldnt sleep for anything , like last night it was 6am after pure exhaustion I fell asleep for only four hours. I also have SOB, sometimes sweating which varies and of course the feeling tired. Sometimes I feel so tired it scares me to death. I start thinking that i must have something horrible. But, thyroid disease has just been a nightmare. I agree with goolarra on the background information. Im sure if you can provide those answers others will be able to advise you better. I wish you all the best. These symptoms can be so confusing and scary.

Please give a little more background information.  Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid disease?  Pituitary problem?

What is your medication history and what are you currently taking?

Do you have the results of recent TSH, FT3 and FT4 tests and their reference ranges?

Do you have other symptoms besides those you listed?
