Yasmin the culprit?

So I've been doing alot of looking around this site, and it seems as if the birth control I am on may be causing all of my problems. I was put on Yasmin at the end of September, after taking a month off of bc pills (my body isn't doing well with any hormonal bc at all btw). So it's been 3 months, and surprisingly when I went to my dr to get a blood test, my tsh was up to 6.99, and before i was on the pill it was normal. Also, my body has been very dry, my hair and scalp are so dry, i'm losing hair, and on top of that i'm extremely constipated and bloated. I seem to be tired all the time,I'm freezing, even in a sweatshirt and warm clothes bundled up. I've gained so much weight that I don't know what to do with myself. I used to be a small 5'0 20 yr old, around 103-107. Now, with all the bloating and water retention and weight gain, i'm up to 121 in less than a yr, not changing diet and eating healthier than I ever have. My doctor is retesting my tsh and all those test, t3 and t4, but she said that "it's so borderline that it probably isn't that bad". Is it possible that my thyroid is out of whack and if I convince her to put me on someting that It'll help? Or is the bc still going to cause my problems and make all the symptoms worse. Oh I've realized that when I'm PMS, I've been getting worse symptoms, and I have IBS on top of that and endometriosis. So is my birth control the culprit?

I agree. I was once myself on Yasmin and switched to Yaz. My recent problems began at this time, but I think it is a coincidence. A lot of women are on Yaz/Yasmin on this site, but I think that is because it is probably one of the more popular brands right now. I don't take anything now. I just don't need one more variable. :)

As far as I know, BC doesn't cause hypo.

Retesting is a good idea, too.

I think you just  need a little help with small doses of thyroid meds.  You seem to be a little hypothyroid.  I am no doctor, but if I were you, I would see an endocrinologist who specializes in this area.  Sounds like all your symptoms point to low thyroid.
