Well, update on the generic brand... it's horrible and the doctor demanded that I use the Synthroid name brand. He said in things like Thyroid Disease, Blood Pressure and Seizure meds he always wants the name brand because the generics aren't as closely regulated by the FDA so the dosage isn't as precise in it because of the carriers. I know that's how it was with our son's seizure meds... he HAD TO have the name brand because we just couldn't get his levels accurate with the other.
HTH
Love you user name BTW... soooooo appropriate for this disease!
I can relate to you, and also know your pain. I'm going to watch this thread and see what people say because I feel like the Sahara... it's horrible!!
I'm on the generic Synthroid and honestly want to see if he'll consider Armour. My hair's falling out again... sweats.... cold..... irritable.... terrible colon spasms/gas.... :(
What a nightmare.
hi and thanks for the post................can you tell me a bit more about your dryness......................i feel like i am dehydrated...........my mouth is dry and at one point i thought i had oral yeast..............ive had all the other autoimmune test and they are negative.............how long were you on the synthroid...?.............i was fine with this generic the first 5 or 6 months before the dryness started.........i also take t3, and those levels are low as well............this is misery.........not to mention the depression..........my doctor likes armour, so maybe i need to wean over........
I HAD IT !!!!!!!
i KNOW YOUR PAIN very well !!!
I felt like a desert internally for ever. I can't answer for sure - but it may be the Levo. I was miserable on Synthroid ( very very low T3 ) and I switche to Armour meds. I feel much better and only get the occassional dry feeling now.
OMG I sympathize so much with you. I hope you get relief.
