armour thyroid as substitute for levothyroxine

I am on .75 of levothyroxine and want to subsitute armor thyroid but do not know the appropriate dosage.  I had a benign nodule on my right lobe which was removed.  I am on the levothyroxine as a preventative measure to ensure the remaining lobe is not ovewr-taxed.  This is what the doctor told me.  I have never had any symptoms of thyroid problems or disease.

what is the appropriate substitution dosage?

Thank you

I think 45mgs was very appropriate to suggest.

It is propbably where I would have thought to start.

Thanks and Good Luck

http://www.armourthyroid.com/hcp_treatment.aspx, theres the link for your records but i beleive that would be 45mg of armour,3/4 of a grain.1 grain is 60 mg.I think you would need a 1 pill which is 30 mg and then a 15mg pill. They make them in odd doages for some reason. Anyways thats a start for you im pretty positve thats right and others will correst me if im wrong. Make sure that they test your free t-4,t-3 when they regulate to ensure proper dosing.
