T3 or Cytomel

After years of struggling with my weight, I decided to use t3 through the advice of a friend to get weight off. I started last night with 50 micrograms, and then another 50 this morning. Ill be doing 100 micrograms a day. Im not starting to wonder if this is the right thing to do. I do not want to screw up my thyroid. He has been using this for 15 years and it appears to me being very successful. I was going to give it a try for 2 months. Im wondering if I have to be weened off of it when I decide to stop. What are the health riskis? Should I stop now, and just deal with my weight the way it is. I work out 7 days a week, doing cardio only 3. Please help

No way should you be taking T3 without even knowing if it is needed or not.  Have you even been tested for Free T3 and Free T4?  Have you even discussed this with your doctor?

Even if testing and symptoms indicate the need for thyroid meds, that does not mean that you should  start with a T3 med.  And the dosage you started with is so high that you may well incur a reaction.  You should absolutely stop now and see a doctor for testing and consultation.

When test results are available, please get a copy and post results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report and members will be glad to help interpret and advise further.

Good that you have stopped the T3 med; as gimel said, even if you need thyroid hormones, T3 might not be the one you need.

Taking cytomel/T3 med without a need for it can be dangerous.
