alright thanks a lot ill do that. what makes you think i have a thyroid disorder? it just automatically put this topic into that category. what are the symptoms? im pretty add and have always had trouble concentrating, and have smoked a lot of weed but have given it up for lacrosse. could that contribute to it or is a lack of a train of thought tie more into a medical problem? ill also add that although im a pretty good guy and have a lot of close friends im having a little difficulty developing new social relationships due to the fact that i cant think of anything interesting to say in stereotypically mundane situations, mainly school. thanks a lot for the feedback.
mtkst13 is right on. I would only add to make sure the doctor includes in the thyroid testing, free T3 and free T4, not just total T4 and TSH, which is the usual approach. If you don't insist, it probably won't happen and free T3 is the most active of thyroid hormones, largely regulating metabolism and other symptoms. After you get this done, also make sure you always get a copy of the lab report and then please post the results and reference ranges and we will help interpret the results from a patient point of view.
go to your doc and request a complete blood count, thyroid panel, and any other labs that may cause your symptoms. make sure the doc doesn't dismiss you. you know your body best and you know when something's wrong.
good luck.
