could i have thyroid problems and pituitary issues?

up to 7 yrs after my chid was born i had breast leakage, eventhough i never breast fed and i took prescription after prescription of pills to dry it up, which they never did, but eventually i did stop having leakage.  a doc i went to thought i had a pituitary prob, but he got ran out of our town before i got any testing done, also i lost my insurance so i have not had any tests done.    i lost 60 lbs 5 yrs ago by not eating anything much.  i have not increased my food intake, but i have slowed down on my excersise.  i mostly eat the same foods as i did as when i lost the lbs, but i have gained. also when i leveled out my weight loss i would excersise more and more not loose a lb.  mostly i eat an apple for lunch, and a small dinner.  i drink at least 10 oz milk and 1 oz of juice a day the same as i did when i lost the weight.  my grandmother and my daughter both have thyroid problems and take synthroid for it.  could i have a pituitary problem and a thyroid problem?

yes, you can have both, like me!  I had a pitutary tumor removed in 2005.  My main symptom was the leakage,  you diff need to have an mri done asap.  It can cause problems if left alone if it is in certain areas.  Ironically, my mother inlaw also had one and lost her eyesight in right eye and almost died.  both of ours were benign as most always are.  sometimes they do nothing and are okay left alone, but should be regularly checked.

Pituitary tumors and or damage to your pituitary can cause one or more hormones to be deficient.  To have breasts leaking without breastfeeding is a sign of prolactemia too high levels of prolactin which is a hormone that the pituitary controls. The usual cause of that would be a hormone secreting pituitary adenoma. Or pituitary tumor. They are almost always benign and non cancerous. The tumor could have cause pressure on your pituitary that has now affected other hormones related to your pituitary. This includes tsh which is a thyroid hormone. That would cause symptoms of hypothyroid. Get your thyroid levels checked and a complete pituitary panel to check all other beehives.I would also request an mri of your pituitary with the past experience of the leaking.
