Hi .. I'm not sure but wanted to say hello. C~
Hi Sidney.....how long have you been taking armour and at what dosage? What were your most recent test results?
The Armour prescribing sheet says that increases should be done every 2-3 weeks until optimum levels are reached. Bloodwork should be done every 4 weeks.
Well, I've only been on it for a week this coming Tuesday. I started with 30 mg first day 60 mg almost all week today 90. I was on 137 mcgs of Synthroid. My last bloodwork was done on Sept 2nd right before the conversion FT3 - 252 FT4 - 1.3 TSH - 1.67.
Hi, chitchat thank you laura
Oh goodness...you need to give it a little time to settle in your system. You might need a little more than 90mgs, but dont rush it too quick. Give your system time to regulate with the T3 in your system. My hormones are just now starting to get a little better and I have been on armour for 13 weeks. I am not nearly as emotional as I was when my levels weren't right.
If your body wants to cry go ahead....after all it is your party! LOL Right? Right! :)
It looks like you are increasing too much too soon.
Did your doctor tell you to do it that way? The Armour prescribing info tells the right way to increase.
I would call the doctor and ask to increase slower to allow your body to adjust.
Cute, did you change from synthroid or just go directly to Armour? The way I feel is like the day they took my thyroid out real real emotional and crying I remember it like yesterday and this is what I felt! Don't come in the room I'll cry good lord I hope this doesn't last I can't amagine going to the grocery store and boo hooing in the check out lane.
I was on synthroid for 2 yrs and then did the switch to armour. I have a conversion problem. You need to take it slow with the increases. T3 is very strong! I tried to take it sublingually one time and one time only! lol It was too much for my body....I felt like a was on a speeding train and had the trembles bad! lol And snappy....ooooweeee! lol
Yeah I definately think you are going tooooo quick.
At the top right of the page here go to the health pages. Find the armour information section. At the bottom I put the actual prescribing information sheet for you and your doctor. Print it out when you get to the link.
No boo hooing over your bananas and lettuce!! haha
I read what you have about following doctors order but she has take two 60 mgs twice a day. I don't think she has an understanding of Armour I am going to back up I guess to 60 for another week then seen how my symtoms are. I feel your right about what your saying going to fast.
Cheers,
deb
Cheers back to ya Deb......just give a holler if you need to.
Yes a lot of drs do not have an understanding on how to medicate with armour. That's why i put that prescribing sheet link on there. You definately want to break you dosage of to at least 2 times per day.
I would do 60 mgs per day (30 in am and 30 in afternoon) for a little while and allow your body to calm down....then if all is well increase in a couple of weeks. :)
I really think it is the direct T3 that is bringing on the crying jags for you.
T3 is a very powerful hormonal thing. Are you by chance getting mild headaches?
Did I read that right on you taking 60mgs twice a day? Was this a direct transfer over from Synthroid - or any T4 only med - to Armour?
I don't remember if you mentioned that.
If so what was the Synthroid mcg's?
