daughter's test results and symptoms -Please advise

My college freshman daughter has been tested for thyroid and told by her pediatrician that she was fine.  However, symptoms she has had have increased: loss of hair, severe weight gain, no menstruation for past 4 months, can't sleep, severe dry scalp, fatigued, can't sleep (literally), severe acne, poor circulation in hands and feet....
She saw her college health ctr doctor who had the previous test results sent to the center and now my daughter has been referred to an endocrinologist.  Why didn't they catch this at home? Can two people interpret results differently?
Her results were: THYROID AB G ---
THYROID PEROXID >6500.0*  U/ml  00.0-60.0
THYROGLOB AB   122.4 H  U/ml  00.0-60.0
T4 FREE ---
FREE T4  1.08   ng/dl  0.84-1.51
TSH  3.122  mU/l  0.300-5.00

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The elevated antibodies TPO and TgAb indicate the autoimmune disease Hashimoto's which can and likely lead to hypothyroidism.  It is good she is seeing an endocrinologist and hopefully the endo will test her thyroid levels again including free T3.  While her FreeT4 and TSH are in the normal range she can still have symptoms of being hypo.  The new recommended range of TSH by the AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) is 0.3 to 3.0 which would make you daughter slightly elevated. Your daughter could benefit from a lose dose of meds given her high level of antibodies.

it is from this website

Hope this helps some.  I would start doing alot of research before her appointment with the endo!

I don't know much about the lab results themselves though somebody on the board will, but maybe her labs have worsened or maybe the college health clinic did more extensive tests? All I know is she is not hypo or hyper but she may have some autoimmune disorder going on. Don't worry somebody will be able to tell  you. Good Luck to the two of you.
